Confirmed. I am perfect

My groomer said it. It am a perfect specimen of a West Highland White Terrier. And she should know. She who is seeing dogs all day everyday says I am the perfect one. Short ears, big eyes, long straight tail, short snout. Need I go on. Everything about me is perfect.

I have always known it but others have been dismissive saying that I am vain and inconsequential. Move over Peggy. I have a new love. Charmaine, my groomer. She adores me.

She said I could be a show dog. My human mum is too lazy to take me to shows and make me look especially special for judging so the world will never know how perfect I am. I could have been a super dogstar. I would not get off my bed for less than $10,000 a day.

I must admit, I like people looking at me, admiring my perfect features and making a fuss over me. It makes me feel good. It makes me feel special.

In England, they did a survey of breeder-judges and this is what they look for in a perfect Westie. I've indicated how I score out of 10. 1. Straight back. 10 2. Body (withers to tail) slightly shorter than height at withers. 10 3. Shoulder blades well laid back. 10 4. Elbow to withers and elbow to ground approximately the same. 10 5. Distinctive gait, powerful, with reach and drive. 10 6. Deep in chest and back ribs. 10 7. Hard, straight coat, about two inches long; double-coated. 10 8. Muzzle blunt, slightly shorter than skull, gradual tapering to nose. 10 9. Eyes widely set, medium size, almond shaped, dark brown. 10 (very dark brown eyes) 10. Thighs muscular, well angulated. 10 11. Ears small, erect, set wide on the outer edge of skull. 10 12. Large teeth, scissor or level bite. 10 13. Head shaped to present a round appearance from the front. 10 14. White color. 10 (Pearlescent) 15. Tail relatively short, good substance, shaped like carrot. 10 16.
